TOUR OUR BUILDINGS

THE MUSEUM The Waucoma Historical Society has three buildings to tour that include antiques, artifacts and memorabilia from Waucoma and the surrounding communities. The museum houses the old train depot bench, replica printing press from the town newspaper, farm equipment, antique coffin & cooling board, antique barber chair and many historical documents. The museum's light fixtures are from the opera house and some building materials are from St. Mary's School in Waucoma. CHURCH BUILDING The old Federated Church features unique wooden seating that are arranged in an opera style semi-circle with a center aisle and flooring that slopes toward the altar area. Beautiful woodwork and stained-glass windows make the Church a unique setting for a wedding ceremony. The Church is handicapped accessible for visitors and guests to gain entrance into the main floor of the Church. The church seats 113 (with additional space to folding chairs). SCHOOLHOUSE Formerly located south of Hawkeye, the schoolhouse contains pictures of Waucoma High School graduating classes, pupil desks from St. Mary's School in Waucoma, old textbooks and a restored teacher's desk from Turkey Valley Community School.
